Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari merger dan akuisisi (M&A) lintas batas yang dilaksanakan oleh perusahaan multinasional dari negara-negara BRICS. Dengan menggunakan analisis ekonometrik, penelitian ini melihat secara empiris bagaimana jarak geografis, jarak ekonomi, dan jarak demografis mempengaruhi M&A lintas batas oleh perusahaan multinasional tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, meskipun jarak demografis tidak mempengaruhi tingkat kepemilikan perusahaan multinasional dari negara BRICS dalam M&A lintas batas, jarak ekonomi dan geografis mempengaruhi secara signifikan tingkat kepemilikan perusahaan. Penelitian ini juga memiliki implikasi praktis dari sisi M&A lintas batas.
