Abstract

Penelitian empiris kuantitatif di bidang manajemen strategik terus berkembang. Pendekatannya adalah menyoroti tren penelitian dan tidak memberikan tinjauan komprehensif atas literatur. Sebagian besar bagian ini bersifat prospektif dan membahas cara-cara penelitian kuantitatif memiliki potensi untuk berkembang lebih lanjut. Alih-alih fokus pada metode estimasi spesifik dan pendekatan statistik, tetapi lebih memperhatikan isu-isu yang lebih luas terkait desain penelitian. Pembahasan ini didasarkan pada dua prinsip. Pertama, tujuan akhir dari penelitian manajemen strategik adalah untuk memberikan informasi yang berguna bagi tindakan para pengambil keputusan, termasuk manajer, pemilik, dan pembuat kebijakan. Kedua, keunggulan sebagai akademisi, dibandingkan dengan pihak lain yang ingin memberikan informasi kepada para pengambil keputusan, berasal dari wawasan yang diperoleh melalui penelitian berbasis bukti yang ketat.
